The Perfect Chairs With Inspire Q

The following post contains affiliate links and is sponsored by iNSPIRE Q Furniture. Read my full disclosure here.

How long have I been talking about my front sitting room? It has been way too long to admit. To put it in perspective, we have lived in this house for a year now. This room has come a long way but has been missing the final design piece. Sitting chairs! I have searched all over for chairs with style and affordability. I was starting to think those two things didn’t exist.

I knew I wanted wingback chairs that would flow with the tufted couch I already had in this room. A neutral fabric would be a necessity, as with all my other main furniture pieces. Sometimes we find what we are looking for when we least expect it. That is exactly what happened when I found these iNSPIRE Q Hayes Wingback Linen Chairs. I actually was drooling over the Kedric Gold Accent nightstands. Can we talk about these for a minute? Picture these white and gold beauties next to a tall tufted headboard with a cute task lamp. I definitely need these nightstands in my bedroom. There is even a five drawer matching chest. The modern and classic combo of this campaign furniture is perfection. They may or may not already be in my online shopping cart. When I finally got past all the styling ideas for the nightstands, I knew I had to have the Hayes Wingback Chairs. Aren’t they perfect? Check out those rolled arms and tall backs. They come in gray or beige linen. I chose the beige and it is the perfect neutral linen. One of my happy colors!

You probably have heard of or seen iNSPIRE Q furniture at some of my favorite retailers like Target and Overstock. They have a studio located in Chicago where they develop original home furnishings that are comfortable and livable. They have some awesome inspiration on their blog at www.inspireq.com and are even having a relaunch this winter. Inspire Q is such a unique brand that is sold exclusively online. Don’t worry, they take all the stress out of buying online with their YouTube Channel that has assembly videos as well product spot lights. I love that they accommodate so many different styles. The iQ Bold collection is fun, bright colored and unique pieces that allow you step outside your comfort decorating zone. iQ Modern is a great eclectic mix of furnishings. iQ Classic is a neutral blend of everyday pieces for the home. The iQ Artisan line has some industrial and rustic glam pieces that will make Joanna Gaines proud. They even have iQ Oasis for your outdoor retreat. The best part about all these different collections is how well they pair with each other. The iQ Artisan and iQ Classic collections are basically my house in nutshell. However, I also have touches of the iQ Modern line. Each piece is versatile and can be used with so many other pieces from each collection. On top of that, all of their furniture pieces come at such a great price point. When you browse their catalog, at times, you feel like you are looking at some overpriced high-end retailer. That is until you see the iQ price. iNSPIRE Q embodies high-end style with out the high-end price.

It is easy to see why I wanted to partner with iNSPIRE Q to complete my front living room. These wingback chairs are the high-end style look I wanted without the price tag. You can find a lot more dreamy furniture combinations and inspiration on the iNSPIRE Q Instagram and Pinterest. My new chairs pair so well with my blue rug. Remember to add the color to your home with decor, rugs, and pillows. I try to keep my big furniture pieces neutral so they can stand the test of time. I already have a plan to put these wingback beauties in my bedroom for the holidays. When the Christmas tree goes up in the front room, we play musical furniture. The versatility of these chairs comes in handy. They will look great with my white duvet, barn door, and tufted headboard too! In the meantime, my tufted couch finally has some friends across the room. Mr. Whitelane and I are pretty excited that we can finally sit in our sitting room.

Joyful Summer Home Tour 2017

I am so happy to be a part of the Joyful Spring Home Tour this week. If you’re coming from Farm House on Boone or My Vintage Porch, welcome!  There are so many talented bloggers that I have teamed up with to bring you this tour. Their homes are gorgeous and you will just love having a peek at how they have styled their homes for the summer. Be sure to follow the schedule at the bottom of this post to see all the homes.

Summer is one of my favorite times of the year. It may sound crazy but I love having my kids home from school! There are no schedules or routines. Just fun days of spontaneous activities that we can do. No alarm clocks or rushing our the door. It is nice to just slow down and enjoy the day or whatever may come our way. We really enjoy spending time at all our local splash pads. The cities around us all have splash pads that the kids can play at for free. We usually take a bunch of snacks, water toys, and blankets or lawn chairs. We can easily spend the entire day camped out there playing.

I feel like this laid back summer vibe crosses over into my decor in my home for the summer. I like to keep it simple and clean (big surprise). My mantel has no garland or banners. When I first took down my Easter decor, it felt a little sparse and naked. I quickly got used to the simplicity and now I love it.  The coffee tables keep that neutral look with a few wood and white elements. I really think having a neutral canvas creates a calm atmosphere for a space. It is fun to add in my pops of color for holidays. However, I still love a simple neutral palette, when all that is gone.

My dining table just has a small centerpiece. A brass bowl with some white hydrangeas. I don’t like to put anything too tall in the center of my table. It just gets in the way at dinner time. It makes it easy for the family to pull out a chair, start eating and share the day. We thought about doing built in shelves next to the fireplace when we moved into the house. I found these Ballard Design shelves instead. They were a great price and it is something we can take with us if we ever move.

My kitchen is easily the room we spend the most time in. After school snacks (now summer snacks), all the meals we cook and just talking. It is the gathering spot in our home. My daughter left her stick horse on the bar stool. I was going to move it out of the picture. I decided to leave it because it reminds me of the sweet moments we share as a family in this room. It was just fitting for this area. It is fun to hear and see them playing while Mr. Whitelane and I cook (mostly Mr. Whitelane). 🙂

Finally, I wanted to show the summer refresh I did in the laundry room. I know, it’s just a laundry room. I feel like I spend the other half of my life in here though. It might as well be cute, right? It is a narrow room making it a little difficult to photograph. I am so glad we put a sink in this laundry room. It has come in handy so many times. We recently switched out the faucet in the kitchen and put it in here. I like this stainless faucet a lot better than the builder basic chrome faucet that was here previously. Mr. Whitelane and I also added the laundry drying pole across the top of the sink. I am a wierdo about drying certain clothes in the dryer. This drying pole has been a life saver. I also found this cute succulent at the Target Dollar Spot. The soap pump was a Home Goods Find from a few years ago. I finished off this little area of the laundry room with a glass jar of clothespins. I just think it’s cute and adds some depth to the space.

I hope you have enjoyed this little summer tour of mine. Be sure to continue the fun over the next few days and check out the other bloggers in the lineup below. Hop on over to Lisa at Farmhouse on Boone and Natalie at My Vintage Porch next to see their tours today!

June 1st- Laura at Meaningful Spaces, Stephanie at Belle Amour Blog, and Marci at Lemons to Lovelys.

June 2nd- Hayley at A House with Books, Jordan at JorDecor, and Kim at Kim Power Style.

Media Table Styling

We have lived in our house since August and all of our television equipment has been sitting on the floor. It is in the upstairs living room making it somewhat out of site. Except, I have to look at it all the time. The cords, control boxes, Xbox, remotes, and everything just laying on the floor under the mounted TV. I knew we had to find some sort of stand for everything before the baby came.

I had some standards that had to be met for this media table. I wanted it to be taller, around 30 inches. I also needed it to be pretty long, around 60 inches. I really wanted a wood tone with doors to hide everything. Most of all, it had to be affordable and durable. I finally came across one I liked from World Market. It met all my criteria and knew it would fit the space well. I watched it for a long time online. I waited for the best sale to make this Chevron Wood Storage Cabinet mine. Every so often, World Market has 40% off furniture sales. You can usually find an additional coupon and free shipping on top of that too.

Once Mr. Whitelane and I got this gem put together (mostly Mr. Whitelane while I watched This Is Us on TV), it was time for styling. I decided to go shopping around the house first. I know! What does that even mean? When people say they shop around the house, I am like..what? Where does the stuff come from? And what do you do you put in the spot you took the decor from? Ok, here is a little secret. I have a stash of home decor in my basement. It is really just a box or two of things (from our previous house) I did not end up using in this new house. Sometimes, I go through it again to use pieces that will work. If I don’t find anything useful there, I shop around my bookshelves, coffee tables, and desks. You can always rearrange and refresh the spots you took from. Luckily I was able to find just a few things I needed without spending a dime.

A media table does not need a lot of clutter. Keep it simple and clean. Your focus will be the TV above. You want to create a homey feel without being distracting. I started with a few neutral stacked books. Next, I put a pop of greenery on top with a faux potted plant. I then added some interest and texture with some neutral wooden beads. Very simple and not too overwhelming. It was all that side needed. For the other side of the media table, I wanted to add height. I think a small lamp is a great way to achieve this. It is also very functional and can add ambiance to the room. Just make sure you get the right size lamp that does not block the TV or seem too large. I used this brass and white lamp I had on hand. To draw out more of the brass, I sat a brass elephant bookend/figurine next to the lamp. Now, to soften up the table and bring in a personal touch, I added a small framed plot map of our property. Then I switched it out for a small family photo. Either one looks good. You can play with the decor until you find what you like best. Again, this side is also minimal and clean.

The media table now has a personal and cozy feel. It also is simple and not too overstated. I mean, we are there to watch TV, not the the table 🙂 .

Easy Framed Printables

I wanted to share a quick and easy decorating tip today. I am always looking for inexpensive ways to decorate and furnish a space. Home Goods, T.J. Maxx, and Target are all great. However, not leaving your home is even better. I love shopping online and finding free items.

One of the simple ways I have found to fill a wall, desk, or space is with framed printables. This can be quotes, art, or pictures. A lot of times you can find free printables that can be printed right off of your home printer. I needed something to fill my laundry room wall. I was able to find these cute prints from The Cottage Market. FREE! There are so many different options she has on her site for these (color, chalkboard, etc.) I already had some IKEA Ribba frames on hand. I was able to print these laundry signs immediately on my printer and put them in frames. It was just what this space needed and it didn’t cost me a dime.

I have also seen Jane, Groupon, and Pinterest have a lot of free and inexpensive options as well. I was able to get a cute saying for my desk on Groupon a few years ago. It was a digital download for only $2. I printed it on my home printer and stuck in another Ribba frame. It added just the right amount of pop to my desk for very little time and cost.

Now, I needed a large print for my bonus room living area. Something that could not be printed at home. I wanted a quote for above the couch that would be simple and clean. Etsy had a ton of options for digital downloads. I bought a 24×36 jpeg digital download quote for only $5. I then uploaded that download to Walgreens photo to be printed as poster size. I picked it up and stuck in a 24×36 white Ribba frame from IKEA. A framed picture/sign of this size would have cost a lot more anywhere else.

All of these printables have saved me a lot of money in the decorating budget. They also look great and fit into my decor seamlessly. Next time you need to fill a space, be sure to check for free or inexpensive printables first!

The Perfect Rug With FLOR

The following post contains affiliate and sponsored links with FLOR. Read my full disclosure here.

I have mentioned a few times about trying to find a rug for my front living room. It is the room right off the entry that has our piano and a sitting area. I have mostly jute rugs through the house. I love jute because it is neutral and easy to hide stains with kids.  I did not want to put jute in this front room because too much of good of thing is not good. It would be a little overkill. Also, this room is a little more formal. It needed a rug that was durable, different, and just the right amount of elegant. I was so excited when FLOR carpet tiles reached out to me. I knew exactly where I needed to put them (my front room).

I know what your thinking…..carpet tiles? Really? I was little hesitant at first too. Don’t worry, they are amazing. These eco-friendly and innovative carpet squares fit together to create beautiful rugs of any size. I needed a 10′ by 12′ for my front room and immediately started browsing the FLOR selections. They even have a cool custom design studio on their website. You can play with all the different options to build your own custom look. As I was browsing, I came across the Kensington Gardens rug system. I immediately fell in love with the vintage look of these carpet tiles. I knew this was the style I wanted for my front room.

I ended up ordering Kensington Blend in Flannel Blue. I stepped out of my neutral comfort zone with this blue rug. Let me tell you, it pays to branch out. The color was exactly like the picture online. The softest blue that is exactly what I was hoping for. The carpet squares came directly to my front door. The boxes were marked telling me which one to open first. The directions were so simple. Mr. Whitelane and I had the rug put together in no time.

A few super cool things about these carpet tiles: 1. You can put them together any way you want. Once we had them all laid out, we switched a few around to fit the flow/pattern better. 2. I ordered a 10′ by 12′ (42 tiles). However, when we got it put together, we actually ended up liking an 8′ 5″ by 13′ 5″ rug for this room. Because of the versatility of the squares, we were able to customize the rug to any size we wanted. 3. When my kids or pets get any part of the rug dirty, I can remove that one square to clean the dirt. I can wash the durable carpet tiles in my own sink.

I was worried that my rug was going to look like a bunch of individual squares next to each other. As you can see, it looks just like a normal rug. I could not be happier with how these carpet tiles turned out. I love the color, the look, and the durability. The perfect rug for my front living room.

Joyful Spring Home Tour

The following post contains affiliate links and sponsored by Hayneedle. Read my full disclosure here.

Today I am joining in on the Joyful Spring home tour, sponsored by hayneedle.com, along with 14 other amazing bloggers. If you are coming from The Porch Light Cottage or Delightfully Noted, welcome! Be sure to follow the schedule at the bottom of the post to check out all the spring tours. Also, there is an awesome hayneedle.com giveaway at the bottom of this post.  I love blog hopping and you will not be disappointed by these talented ladies.

Spring officially starts in a week. Considering it snowed last week, I am beyond excited for it to start warming up! I always get excited to decorate for Spring. It means that we are finally getting past the cold and ready to start fresh. Don’t get me wrong, I love having all four seasons in Utah. It is so fun to experience each new season.

One of my favorite spots to decorate is my World Market Everett Table. Easter and Spring are when I venture out and add some color around the house. I picked up this egg garland and grass bunnies at Michael’s. The wreath was a Home Goods find. My husband refers to this as the hallway of shiplap. I just love the character that shiplap gives our entry.

I haven’t shown much of this front room, right off the entry. It has been a work in progress. We have our piano and a sofa in here. I am still loving this DIY framed botanical gallery to go above the sofa. The perfect rug for this room is still out there. I just need to find it and bring it home.

My living room, dining room, and kitchen are all open to each other. I love open concept spaces. It just feels like there is more room. I can also be a part of all the action going on in the other areas while cooking in the kitchen.

This adorable mad hatter hat, egg garland, and big bunny (on the coffee table) are from Michael’s.

This rolling pin was actually at the Target Dollar Spot for Valentine’s Day. I thought it carried over to Easter perfectly too.  My kids just love turning on this marquee bunny from Michael’s. The poor mini chicks have also taken quite the beating from my little ones. I don’t know if they will survive another Eater around here. 🙂

Ok, let me tell you about the best shopping experience ever, hayneedle.com. It is like Home Goods, T.J. Maxx, and Target all combined but better! Way cuter selection and the prices are AMAZING! The best part is that I get to do all my shopping while wearing my pajamas in bed. I don’t have to drag my kids in and out of a million stores to find one thing I am looking for. I had the hardest time trying to decide what I wanted to order for this spring tour. There may, or may not, be a whole cart full items still waiting to be purchased. 🙂 Hayneedle was so kind to send me this duvet set and bench for my master bedroom spring refresh. I have been searching for the perfect duvet for this bedroom since we moved in. I am in love with the look and feel of this duvet. It is like sleeping in luxury hotel bedding. Since the name is Luxury Hotel Microfiber Set, totally makes sense now!  Mr. Whitelane even thinks it feels super comfy.

A bench is a necessity in our bedroom. Mr. Whitelane wakes up way earlier than me. Every time he puts on his shoes, he sits on the end of the bed. I am a light sleeper and I would always wake up. Not anymore. This bench has saved me many minutes of sleep. I love the black metal base that ties into our barn door. Best of all, it was so easy to assemble and came right to my front door. It has also withstood the kid superhero test. Many jumps later, still going strong. It was my first time ordering with hayneedle.com and I am definitely hooked! Hayneedle is also giving away a $250 shopping spree to one of you! Click HERE to enter your email and follow @hayneedle on Instagram. Contest runs until March 20th. Good luck!

Don’t worry, the tour doesn’t stop here. Go check out these other awesome ladies in the schedule below. We have loved putting the Joyful Spring Home Tour together. It has been such fun showing you our spring decor and working with hayneedle.com. Tomorrow is the final day of the tour. So, don’t miss out!
