Half Bathroom Update

This post is sponsored by American Standard, who has provided me with product. All reviews and opinions are my own.  Read my full disclosure here.

I don’t even know where to start with this half bathroom. There are so many reasons why this little room needed some major love. It is awkward, small, and not very functional. When we bought this house, I just knew we would have to do some changes to make this bathroom work for our family. I was so excited to partner with American Standard to bring this bathroom up a few notches.

Let’s talk about this pedestal sink. It is child size. I am not even joking when I say that. Literally, the smallest pedestal sink I have EVER seen! I could not even fit a soap pump by the handles. I went shopping everywhere to find the skinniest soap pump I could and it still did not fit. Not only is this sink tiny and short, it is lacking any resemblance of style as well. A real builder basic fixture at its best. To top it off the faucet is not helping this bathroom esthetic. The whole faucet sink combo is just wrong.

As soon as I saw the Townsend Pedestal Sink, I knew it was the one. The rectangular shape and large faucet deck are amazing! I know it will hold up to a beating with my kids since it is made of durable fine fireclay. The best part is the Right Height design. Finally, no more baby sink that I have to bend over to reach. If this was the only thing we changed about the bathroom I could die a happy woman.:)

I decided to go ahead and pair the Townsend Pedestal Sink with the Townsend Widespread Faucet in brushed nickel. I really like widespread faucets because they are easier to clean. The previous builder basic faucet was a 4-inch deck mount all in one. Having the faucet handles spread out makes cleaning day a breeze. The tapered edges and urban flare just spoke to me. The faucet pairs perfectly with the sink. The faucet and sink are not lacking at all in the design department. They are also not sacrificing any quality to get that design. A lot of times products can be stylish but they sacrifice quality control. American Standard has done a great job combining style and quality products. The drip-free solid brass construction assures me this faucet is built to last.

I guess the builder just loved baby sized bathrooms so much they had to put in a baby toilet too. 🙂 I am going to get a little personal here. You know when you to sit down on the toilet seat but it feels like you are going to fall? Like when in the world am I going to land on the toilet? Just as you think you are about to fall, you land to sit on the worlds shortest toilet. Pheww!! There was a toilet after all. It was just the size of a potty training toilet for your kids.:) Yeah, that was this toilet that came with the house.

To say I was excited about the VorMax Plus Right Height Elongated Toilet is a major understatement. The final piece to this tiny bathroom makeover. The Vormax is like a busy moms dream come true. It is a self-cleaning toilet. SAY WHAT!!!??? That is right mommy friends. I can’t believe I just typed those words. I was sold at self-cleaning. The VorMax Plus combines the jetted scrub of the VorMax flushing system with LYSOL® toilet bowl cleaner. With just a simple flush you get the ultimate cleaning experience. I could cry, friends. One less toilet to clean is just the gift that keeps giving in my house.

The CleanCurve® rim design makes sure to get rid of that build up in hard to reach places that conventional toilets leave behind. The EverClean® antimicrobial surface also helps prevent the growth of stain and odor-causing bacteria. I am a germaphobe and this just speaks my language. Definitely my kind of potty talk. 😉 The Right Height and elongated bowl have stopped that awkward feeling of falling every time I go to the bathroom. No more baby toilet for me! The hidden cleaning compartment is easy to access and the LYSOL® cleaner lasts up to 30 days. I just can’t say enough good things about the VorMax Plus toilet.

This tiny baby bathroom got a major upgrade with American Standard. It now packs so much style, function, and quality into a usable bathroom. I know these fixtures will last for years to come and make my busy life easier. One bathroom complete, two more to go on the remodel.
