This kitchen has really come together from where we started when we bought the house. We decided to replace all the appliances to fit our needs and give the kitchen an updated look. One of the things we have come to enjoy is cooking on a gas range. Since the basement isn’t finished yet, we ran a gas line up to the existing electric range. Now, all we had to do was go shopping!

We started looking for what brand of appliances we wanted for this kitchen. In our previous home, we had GE Cafe Series. They were great but I really fell in love with the look and function of KitchenAid appliances. My go-to for appliances is Duerden’s Appliance & Mattress. They are a Utah local family owned company that I just love working with. Not only do they offer everything you could possibly want for your appliance needs, they are very knowledgeable. I received a wealth of knowledge about all my questions on everything I was considering. Side note, the mattress Mr. Whitelane and I sleep on is also from Duerden’s. Absolutely love it! Definitely, go check them out for your next kitchen or bedroom upgrade.

When the appliances were delivered I knew they were the perfect fit for this kitchen. We chose a dual evaporated side by side fridge. The french door style is great but we felt this side by side would work for us. It really is perfect. It keeps all the fruits and vegetables fresh for so much longer than our old fridge. The dishwasher is amazingly quiet too. I don’t even have to tell you how much better is to be cooking on gas again. This KitchenAid range is phenomenal and I love that the cooktop is black and not stainless. It is a lot easier to clean. I thought about doing a double oven. Since we will have a kitchen in the basement there wasn’t a need.  Although I don’t love having an over the range microwave, we wanted to keep the existing footprint. Mr. Whitelane and I decided that adding a vented out hood was not cost effective. However, if I have to look at a microwave while cooking, this one sure is pretty!

The kitchen is finally all done, for now.:) We took this builder basic kitchen and gave it a little makeover to look more custom. The appliances were a great addition to finishing off this design.
