KitchenAid Mixer

When my mom told me she would get me a KitchenAid Mixer for my birthday/housewarming present; I about hit the floor. I was SOOOO excited. I have been wanting one forever. I knew it would look perfect in our new house, on the counter. Now my birthday isn’t until August and our house won’t be finished until this summer anyway.

I started to think about what color of mixer I would want. I have always loved the mint and turquoise color. I started to realize there are so many different colors of blue. There is Ice Blue, Aqua Sky, Pistachio, and the options go on. My kitchen and house have a lot of white and I started to think it may stick out like a sore thumb. I am going really neutral with my color scheme in the new house. I love color but I also plan on keeping this mixer a long time. Some people still have their KitchenAid from ten plus years ago.

So I was back to neutral colors. White, silver, stainless, gray, rose gold, or copper. I went to Macy’s to see the colors and I really didn’t like the metallic chrome or contour silver that much. Nothing else I own is copper or rose gold. That left white. Now the only concern with white is that it will just blend in with all the rest of my white. Who am I kidding? You can never have too much white( in my opinion).

I saw that there was a $30 mail in rebate on certain models. That made the price too good to pass up. My mom said we should go ahead and purchase the mixer now, as an early present. I was beyond excited and thrilled to find such a good deal.

I chose the artisan 5 qt. KitchenAid mixer in white with a silver band and stainless steel bowl. I almost went with the Pearlized white with a glass bowl. After reading some reviews, I decided the glass bowl was not right for me.  It shipped super fast and I have already used it multiple times. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Our hand mixer died a few months ago. I have been living without one ever since. I just wanted to wait until I could get the one I really wanted. Well while I was looking at stand mixers, I found that Nordstrom Rack sold KitchenAid hand mixers on their website. Last month at my husband’s work retreat; they gave all the wives $50 Nordstrom gift cards (so awesome). So I decided to use my gift card to buy a hand mixer. Since I went neutral on the stand mixer; I went with a pop of color on the hand mixer. I went with the Ice Blue. It won’t be sitting out on the counter like the stand mixer. I’m pretty sure I will still smile every time I use it, though. I love the ice blue color but I also love the white for the stand mixer. Seriously, happy girl over here right now! 🙂
